Frequently asked questions about our Pilot Academy
Will I be regarded as a student if I follow the Classic track?
No, you are an employee, as you will be entering into a part-time employment contract (80%) with TUI fly.
Which qualification do I need before I can apply?
Applicants who received their education in Belgium must at least have obtained a technical secondary education diploma.
Applicants who received their education in the Netherlands must at least have obtained a HAVO diploma.
How old must I be to apply for participation in the programme?
You have to be 18 years old (or turn 18) in the year you start the training.
Can I participate in the training if I have a family?
The training is very intensive and is therefore difficult to combine with family life.
Can I apply if I don’t have a European passport?
You have to be an EU citizen to start; if this is not the case, you should have a work visa.
What are the different steps of the application procedure?
After the CVs have been examined, a further screening by telephone takes place. If this screening has a positive result, it is followed by competency and skill tests, an interview and finally a jury day.
What about accommodations?
All applicants must take care of their own accommodations.
How high is the remuneration for the Classic track?
You will receive a competitive remuneration for a part-time job (80%).
What is the proportion between classroom training and self-study?
- +/- 500h distance learning (Computer Based Training)
- +/- 200h classroom training and exams
- +/- 70h observation flights (+/- 10 flights)
Can I participate if I wear glasses?
Yes, but your eyesight measurements must not exceed -4/+3. Unfortunately, you do not qualify for this job if you are colour-blind.
